Bowen technique in Salgótarján

When your body needs not more force, but more precise support. If you’ve already tried massage or other treatments, but the pain keeps returning from time to time, your body may respond better not to a stronger intervention, but to a different approach.

Many treatments focus on the area where you feel the pain.

However, the body is a complex system, and the problem does not always originate where the pain is felt. This is why pain may return, treatment may only provide temporary relief, or the same complaint may keep recurring. This does not mean that previous treatments were ineffective — in many cases, the body simply needs a different type of support.
Basics

What is the Bowen technique?

Bowen is neither massage nor naturopathy in the traditional sense. We do not treat diseases; instead, we focus on the whole person and help release patterns of tension in the body. The treatment consists of a series of precise, gentle soft-tissue movements performed at specific points on the body. The body uses the information triggered by these movements through connections within the nervous system to help restore its own balance.
The Treatment Process

What can you expect from a treatment?

A short conversation about your condition, comfortable lying down even while clothed, gentle treatments with pauses in between — and your body continues working even after the session. During the treatment, we use subtle, precise movements without force or pain, giving the body time to respond.
After the Treatment

What Should You Keep in Mind After the Treatment?

After the treatment, you may experience tiredness, mild reactions or even changes several days later. This is a natural part of the process. Bowen does not “do” something to the body — instead, it gives your body the opportunity to initiate the necessary changes itself.

About me

As a Therapeutic Massage Therapist, I Learned How to Work with the Muscles

The Bowen Technique showed me how to work in cooperation with the body. As a visually impaired practitioner, I rely strongly on touch and subtle signals during treatments. This helps me perceive the body’s reactions and areas of tension more precisely.

AVAILABILITY OF THE METHOD

To the Best of My Knowledge, I Am the Only Practitioner Offering It in the County

The Bowen Technique is a gentle manual method based on subtle movements and is practised by relatively few practitioners. To the best of my knowledge, it is currently available uniquely within the county through my practice — I completed the foundation training of BOWTECH – The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia in 2025. If you are curious about what a treatment is like, feel free to get in touch.
MASSAGE OR BOWEN?

Why Is It Different from Massage?

Massage is a treatment in which different parts of the body are worked with specific movements: it can help relax the muscles, reduce pain and improve circulation. The Bowen Technique, by contrast, is a gentle, specialised bodywork method that uses subtle rolling movements over the muscles and connective tissues. We do not use strong pressure; instead, the sequence of movements gently stimulates the nervous system, allowing the body to initiate its own recovery processes. This is why Bowen may be considered when a complaint keeps returning, the effects of massage are not long-lasting, or the body needs support in restoring a deeper sense of balance. Massage and Bowen do not have to replace one another — they can also complement each other.
